Shown below, are the three samples of aluminum before they were placed in the ferric chloride, sodium chloride and water solution. This formed an acid solution that over time would corrode the three aluminum samples. The samples were exposed to various temperatures such as 61˚C, 32˚C and 20˚C for a period of 20 hours.


This picture shows beaker #2 placed in a tub of water. On the upper right you can see an aquarium heater used to maintain the temperature at 32˚C. On the lower left a circulator was used to allow the water temperature to flow evenly around the tub.
