For this experiment, the following items are needed:
§
4 flower pots
§
4 flower bulbs
§
3 saran wrapping papers (transparent paper) of
3 different colours
§
a place where there is sunlight
§
a pair of scissors
§
a watering can with a long thin spout
First, the four bulbs are planted into four flower pots, one per bulb. The
scissors are used to cut out large rectangular pieces of the saran wrapping
papers. These rectangular pieces are used to wrap the pots and tape is used to
tape the wrapping paper around the rim of the pots. This creates a column with
the flower in it. One pot will not be wrapped in wrapping paper so that it will
grow and take in sunlight of all the colours. These pots will be placed in the
same room so that they can get almost the same amount of sunlight and so that
they will grow at the same temperature. I will then cut a slit on the side of
the each saran wrapping paper column facing away from the window. This slit will
serve as a hole for watering plants and measuring how tall the plant is through
the experiment.
