What is Erosion?

Before we talk about different kinds of erosion and its affects, we first have to go over exactly what it is. Webster's defines erode as, "To eat into or away by slow destruction of substance." Erosion comes in many forms, but this web-sight covers the erosion of land. A second definition states that erosion is, "To wear away by the action of water, wind, or glacial ice." This is the type of erosion that I will cover, and that you will hopefully better understand.

Erosion changes the shape of the world we live in. Anything from the shapes of rivers, the creation of delta's, or the shaping of mountains are all caused by erosion. How you ask?
