Pigments as Reflectors

Mother nature has provided us with natural reflectors such as pigments. They are found in:

plant leaves
colorful flowers such as a rose, marigold, larkspur and many, many flowers
colorful vegetables and fruits such as carrots, tomatoes, broccoli to name a few
different kinds of colorful animal skins, including human skin

Due to the pigment chlorophyll we see the plant leaves as green.

What are these pigments after all?

Pigments are colorful substances. They absorb, reflect and/or transmit certain wavelengths of light and this makes them appear "colorful".

I conducted an experiment to find out the color transmitted by chlorophyll.
