Home Interesting facts on Sunlight Sunlight and Reflector Pigments as Reflectors Plant Pigments Experiments SpectrophotometerSummaryBibliography and Acknowledgement

I wondered, why do I see the colours the way they are?

I am not able see objects in a dark room but when white light or visible light, e.g. sunlight, falls on an object I see them. Why is that so?

With the onset of spring, I went to a plant nursery to pick up baby plants. I asked myself :

Plant
...Why do the plant leaves look green?

Fruits and Vegetables
...Why do carrots look orange and tomatoes look red?

The research began.I learned many facts on visible light and colors, what makes a rose look red or pink, about pigments, reflectors, photosynthesis, so on….. The links at the top of the page will show you what I found out in my investigation.
