    Trial Two

Trial One About the Tests

Trial 2 (T2) was started on Sunday, February 2nd, 2003, it also had four groups.

Amount of Tailings Amount of Salt
Control Group 0 tsp 0 tsp
Light Group 1/4 tsp 0 tsp
Heavy-Potash Group 3/4 tsp 0 tsp
Heavy-Salt Group 0 tsp 3/4tsp

For this trial, I determined the amount of tailings used by looking at my results from trial 1. The plants in groups 2 and 3 of trial one had not grown, so I decided to use very small amounts of tailings to see how much was needed to have an effect on plants. I decided to perform a trial with salt instead of potash tailings because I know that salt hurts plants, but I wondered if it was only the salt in the potash tailings that was killing the plants, or if it was the salt in conjunction with the other chemicals in the tailings.
