Control Group Procedure:

    Step 1: Fill each pot with 15mm of potting soil.

    Step 2: Add 1/8 tsp. of water to each pot. (To moisten the soil)

    Step 4: Set 3 seeds* in each pot.

                *Barley and flax seeds are set in different pots.

    Step 5: Cover seeds with 8mm of potting soil to each pot.

All other groups:

    Step1: Mix potash tailings with 7 cups of potting soil.

    Step 3: Add 1/8 tsp. of water to each pot. (To moisten the soil)

    Step 5: Set 3 seeds* in each pot.

                *Barley and flax seeds are set in different pots.

    Step 6: Cover seeds with 8mm of potting soil to each pot.
